Home of Moody A.F.B. and the Valdosta State University.

Proudly carrying its nickname "Winnersville U.S.A.," Valdosta is home to the nation's winningest high school football team. Strong athletic competition is not the only outstanding hallmark of our county seat, though. Valdosta was named a "City of Excellence" in 2002 by the Georgia Municipal Association and Georgia Trend Magazine. It is recognized as one of the top ten of Georgia's best-managed and most livable cities and is a certified "City of Ethics."
